The history of Sahyadri industries began in 1947, just when the country was putting a foot in the new era of independence, working toward nation-building, an ordinary man, Shri. L.B Patel from a humble background decided to transform the lives of common people by providing affordable building solutions.
It was his vision and determination to touch every life that led to the foundation of Sahyadri Industries Ltd.
The end of the 1984s saw the beginning of a new chapter in the history of Sahyadri Industries Ltd. In 1990, Patel Group, a renowned leader in automatic pre-polished mosaic tiles manufacturing, decided to venture out in cement roof sheets manufacturing which demanded huge investments. Hence, they planned to start with a plant capacity of 2000mt tonnes per month.
The bold decision with huge risk and steep learning curve led to its own challenges in the early phase and its repercussions were closely witnessed by Satyen V. Patel as a young family member. At that time, the flame to lead the same business successfully from the helm ignited in him.
In 1998, Satyen Patel took charge of the roofing sheets manufacturing company and transitioned it into a well-diversified comprehensive solution provider in innovative building materials solutions.
Discipline and clear vision as keystones, commitment for best delivery, and a keen understanding of the plight of the common man to build a home led to Satyen’s growth story for SIL.

Despite the Pandemic, SIL overcame the challenges and continued to showcase good business performance while the sales force adapted to the new working style and delivered to their potential.
