Preetha Reddy's journey into the world of healthcare began at a young age, inspired by her father's work in the field.

The Reddy family has played a pivotal role in revolutionising healthcare in India. Preetha Reddy is one of four sisters, including Suneeta Reddy, Sangita Reddy, and Shobana Kamineni, who are all Directors at Apollo Hospitals.

Their father, Prathap Reddy, laid the foundation for Apollo Hospitals in 1983, and to this day, the family retains a 34 per cent ownership stake in the company.

Preetha Reddy's professional journey at Apollo Hospitals began in 1989 when she joined as a joint managing director. Her exceptional leadership qualities quickly earned her a promotion to the position of managing director.

Under her visionary guidance, Apollo Hospitals witnessed significant growth. The hospital expanded its capacity by adding more beds and achieved the prestigious quality certification, solidifying its reputation for world-class healthcare.

In 2012, Preetha Reddy's expertise and contributions to the healthcare sector were recognised when she was elected to the board of the medical technology giant Medtronic as an independent director.

This appointment underscored her influence and knowledge in the field of healthcare and medical technology.

Two years later, she assumed the role of executive vice-chairperson at Apollo Hospitals, succeeding her father, Prathap Reddy. Her elevation to this position marked a pivotal moment in the history of the organisation as she continued to drive Apollo Hospitals towards greater heights of excellence and innovation.
