A college student pursuing animation-VFX and Parapsychology, and at the age of 22, Darshan already has portrayed his flair for writing with a mythological tale named ‘MANU’ to his credit. Having written several popular audiobooks in the Marathi language in just one year, and many more in the process of recording, his audiobooks have gained immense popularity and are categorized as ‘Most Popular Audiobooks in Marathi’ on Storytel.
With this, Darshan has marked his prowess as a writer with multiple skills. Many of the audiobooks have been translated into English and Hindi languages.
Darshan Desale’s first audiobook ‘Zombie’ was the very first audiobook about zombies, written in the Marathi language. The young writer and music enthusiast, Darshan has already crossed several milestones in the literary journey by receiving tremendous acclamation for his work and winning many awards for his debut novel.

Darshan developed a penchant for writing when he was in the twelfth grade and often, he would discuss at length and for hours with his friends on various topics post-dinner, during which he would narrate his thoughts, ideas, and stories from ancient history in those gatherings.
His keenness on the topics was evident when he would share his interpretations and research work on those topics. His friends liked listening to his interesting narratives and always appreciated and encouraged him. It was one such discussion session when the idea of writing a book emerged and Darshan pursued it seriously later.
His determination continued and he began writing short stories. the creative writer in him was not satiated even after several stories and eventually, in the second year of his college, he developed the concept of a novel. His friends gladly became his beta readers and fell in love with the first draft.
And thus began the quest for becoming a published author. Several steps later and crossing certain milestones of the publishing journey, Darshan is happy to become a published author and gladly presents his book to his readers.
His book “Manu’ narrates the story of a commonplace young boy who has a normal life and is inclined toward learning ancient secrets, scriptures, and books. His curiosity takes the better of him when he tries to learn the meaning of life and existence.
The protagonist, Manu’s life changes when one day, suddenly, a character from the Mahabharata appears in front of him and invites him to visit a secret place, an ancient lost city.
The invitation is offered by this cursed and forgotten character who has appeared before Manu. What is the purpose of the expedition and how Manu is destined to witness a divine event, becomes the core of the story! All the Holy books have a mention of that catastrophic ancient event, the prediction of the Kalki avatar, and the prospect of the world coming to an end.
However, a different interpretation of the Kalki avatar is ‘Truth and Secrets Revealed’, and now the time has come for the Kalki avatar to take place and realize the ultimate truth.
Darshan has always been curious, inquisitive, and engrossed in questions about different things concerning life and existence, mythology, and the mysteries of the universe. Despite not finding any answers to all those questions to his satisfaction in his earlier days, Darshan began exploring in his own way, and later in the quest, he got interested in ancient wisdom and knowledge.
And before he would realize it, he began researching the subject and started writing articles on the same. His awareness, knowledge, and interest in the matter are clearly visible in his book ‘Manu’ and several literary pieces.
His forthcoming book ‘Karma’ proves this further. A mythological, sci-fi, and fantasy novel, ‘Karma’ is the story of the protagonist named Karma who, in a trice, finds himself behind the universe one fine night. “Nothing is more dangerous than a man who knows the past, but what if he also knows the future? What if he gets the control of the universe?”.
The ordinary life of Karma witnesses the ultimate truth hidden beyond the universe, the secret of the Agartha, and changes his entire existence.
Beholding the power to reverse the history of the entire universe, bestowed with the task of being the destiny, what would happen when such power and responsibility falls into the hands of a betrayed man? Will it bring the end, or mark the beginning of a new tradition? What curtails behind the mysterious universe? This second book in the saga reveals the same through the struggle of God, Rakshasas, and Men.
No author’s life is ‘challenges-free’ and Darshan has been no exception to this rule. With a few hiccups, errors that kept creeping in inadvertently, and several sincere efforts later, he did manage to transform his dream into reality.
He had to constantly keep switching his writing style to pace up with the audiobooks and novel writing. Having gained a unique identity from his audiobooks, he honed his writing skills, and although a young writer, his creative ability and language skills have always been soaked in astounding endeavors and immense passion.
Darshan is a music enthusiast and likes listening to retro Hindi songs, which he thinks, are exquisite. He also has many South Indian songs on his playlist and likes immersing in their tunes and souls as he believes that music has no language barrier, and feelings have no language.
A firm believer in the fact that “When an author writes a book, he writes in a particular flow”, Darshan thinks that being an author makes it difficult for everyone to comprehend his perspective.
Whether it is through the visuals of the VFX or the magic of the words, he tries to communicate his ideas to people. “An idea only pops up when you deserve it”, he says and as soon as he develops a concept, he likes to put it on paper without wasting any time.
“The more you write, the better your writing will be, and the plot will come to you as you write. The rest of the story is suspense for the author, too, that’s the real fun of writing”
