A mentor, teacher, leader, manager, orator and innovator, Mrs. Rashmi Mittal is a woman of many virtues. Professing the values of Indian culture, she practices the fundamental principles of humanity and social welfare while dedicating herself to the cause of education and meaningful research.
Mrs. Rashmi Mittal is one such woman who fits right into the famous saying by Michelle Obama- “There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish.”
Starting her career at the University as a Lecturer, with her interest in administrative areas, she served Lovely Institute of Law and Engineering as Officiating Principal and Dean for Lovely Institutes in 2006, handling manifold departments of the University.
With her inclusive style of working, academic interests, and clear-cut understanding of people’s skills and students’ psychology, she has risen to be Pro-Chancellor of the University. Working in the education sector, she acquired the skills of converting ideas into reality and de-bottle-necking the research processes, adopting novel and innovative approaches.
Mrs. Rashmi Mittal is a firm believer that a better society can be formed only by setting up a robust education system. In her words, “I enjoy the company of students and educationists.
For me, motivating young minds to realise their dreams and watching them grow is a spiritual journey to relish. Even the idea of joining LPU is driven by the fact that I always want to invest my time in Edu-care to shape the future of the world.
As the Pro-Chancellor, Mrs Rashmi Mittal has steered LPU as one of the most disciplined universities with an all-around friendly environment for many thousand students and staff- members.
She has an acute passion for music, co-curricular activities and working with children of all age groups so that they come out in brilliance through their inborn talents. Under her stewardship, LPU boasts of holding major national-level events to a peaceful settlement of nearly 25,000 students in the University accommodations.
Outside the University, Mrs Rashmi Mittal is the secretary of the top officers’ Gymkhana club Jalandhar for its ladies’ wing. She also has recognition as lead singer in an audio album called “Mehndi”.
Recognising her contributions as Pro-Chancellor of Lovely Professional University and acknowledging her services and excellence in the field of education, she has been awarded the Mother Teresa Award (2014), Rashtriya Gaurav Award (2015), Rising star of Asia (2016), Glory of India (2016), Mother Teressa Priyadarshani Award (2016) and Asia Pacific Achiever’s Award with Gold Medal (2018).

Bring laurels in all aspects of life, and don’t stand just for yourself but for society at large. Your out-of-the-box thinking, warm-heartedness and distinguished attitude toward life should define the University in the next decade.”
To young entrepreneurs, she advises them to “Think Big”. In her words, “An entrepreneur’s journey is perilous, but it does not mean that this path should not be considered.
A successful entrepreneur is one who acquires the required skills and imbibes the culture. Entrepreneurs are bred apart, so staying in a culture where Innovation and risk-taking are encouraged and mentored is the most pertinent requirement.”
