Chandni Agarwal, the founder of Little Tags and Little Tags Luxury is an emerging entrepreneur, innovator, and multi-tasking mother. A problem-solver, at the core of her being, Chandni is driven by the infinity in exploring and accomplishing. She is a robust believer in achieving solutions to every scenario of life, profession, and personality.

Recently, the leading lady joins The CEO Magazine's correspondent in a candid and exclusive interview. She discusses her unique and incredible entrepreneurial legacy and succession plans and some never before revealed aspects of her personal life.

How do you feel about the “25 Iconic Businesswomen Need to Follow in 2022” accomplishment? What motivates you?

It is a wonderful feeling when your work gets recognized by such a leading magazine. It motivates you to work harder and takes your company to a higher level!

What led to the coining of the idea to join the industry?

Previously, I was working with my husband. And, after my first child was born, I entered the entrepreneurial world. When I had my daughter, I could not find any good party wear, formal clothes for her. While I wanted delicate details and subtle shades, all I could see was blingy mass-produced stock.

Then, I realized that there is a gap in the market in the demand and application of fine clothes for toddlers. This is what motivated me to seize the opportunity to foray into this segment and took the foundation of Little Tags and get all good quality, well-made clothes for kids under one roof.

Briefly tell us about your brand?

Little Tags and Little Tags Luxury, both are marketplaces for kids. Little Tags was launched in the year 2017 and had been unique eCommerce platform for kids clothing bringing branded, high-quality kids' clothing under a single roof. Little Tags lets you shop a wide range of premium products for kids without any hassle.

With over 250+ designer brands under its umbrella, Little Tags brings the best and latest trends conceptualized by the reputed designer labels in India like Rohit Bal, Samant Chauhan, Nitya Bajaj, Yogesh Chaudhary, Pallavi Mohan, Shivan & Narresh, Anand Bhushan, Sahil Aneja, Karishma Sahani Khan, Siddharth Tytler, Krishna Mehta, Monisha Jaising, Nishka Lulla, and Pooja Wang.

Adding the golden feather on the cap of achievements, Little Tags Luxury was established in the year 2020 with a proposition of bringing premium line of kids wear from international brands. The intent behind the establishment of Little Tags Luxury had been solely to create an online platform for parents where they can find luxury clothing to dress up their child adhering to high on fashion trends.

The exquisiteness of the kid’s collection for apparels and accessories at the Little Tags Luxury can be comprehended by the line of international brands like Aigner, Balmain, Boy London, Bugatti, Dsquared2, Diesel, Elie Saab, Emilio Pucci, Marc Jacobs, Moschino, N21, Sophie La Girafe, Stella McCartney Kids, and many other. Consequently, the availability of kids wear from international brands adds more into the extensiveness of the premium line of kids clothing.

Tell us about the key products which add value to the target clientele?

We bring a curated collection from ace Indian designers and international fashion brands that will be offering ample of options to leave parents and their little ones spoilt for choice.

Additionally, we are incessantly bringing in exclusive line of clothing that are ideal for upcoming festivities and celebrations happening round the year. Thus, during this time of the year when the festival of colours is approaching, we came up with an exclusive Holi Kids wear collection for parents to explore and shop online. From premium selections to the most comfortable wearables, such specific collections have it all to meet distinctive preferences of every parent to a cute little kid.

The high-end fashion clothing from Little Tags Luxury had garnered enormous appreciation from the parents desiring to dress up their kids in clothing varieties from reputed designers and international brands. In your entrepreneurial journey, how did you overcome the challenges?

One of the biggest challenges faced by me was during the commencement of Little Tags and Little Tags Luxury, as there had been a talk among the people that luxury kids wear won’t entice parents in investing for high-end kids’ fashion. However, I believed that there are parents finding it hard to find premium clothing collection or designer kids wear in India just like I found it difficult after my child’s birth. To my surprise, there had been enormous number of people desiring for a reliable store to find the premium line of clothing exclusively for kids.

Today, we have been catering to the needs of thousands of customers everyday who had been exclusively looking for designer clothes and apparels from international brands. With every new addition in the range from an elite brand or designer label, we are overcoming every challenge that we had been facing during the creation of the website. It was basically, my firm conviction in the ideology of creating an online store with specific category of kids wear that helped me in overcoming every challenge.

How does your firm differ from the biggest competitors?

From a wide range of kid’s ensembles for any event to accessories that cater to a multitude of uses for kids and occasions, Little Tags assures world-class quality and authenticity to the customers. Here are some other major differentiating factors of Little Tags:

How would you define success for the firm? What are the recognitions it has earned over the years?

The biggest recognition is the love I get from my clients and everybody we are associated with. Furthermore:

- Little Tags has been awarded as India’s Most Admirable Brand 2020 by Forbes India.

- Our elite collection also made to the Ramp of Delhi Times Fashion Week 2021. The high point was the launch of the ace designer - Rohit Bal’s collection at Little Tags that made it to the fashion show.

- A feature in The Corporate Review Magazine as the Futuristic Woman Entrepreneur in 2022.

All had been sheer handwork that helped me bag all the recognitions that I am thankful for.

What is your role in the organisation today? Tell us about your dynamic team?

I need to make sure that the company is evolving 24*7, I don’t want to be stuck at one place. My main role is to ensure that company is evolving and coming out with new things and also to make sure that all our visions are aligned.

2020 has created hostile situations for many brands, what are the challenges you are facing, and how do aim to overcome them?

Year 2020 because of the pandemic had been the worst year for almost every business. Thankfully, e-commerce business did not find it a difficult time like other businesses. We at Little Tags had been able to withstand the unfavourable phase with not much difficulty as people did not refrain themselves from buying clothes for their little ones. In fact, there had been ample of orders during this phase addressing to specific occasions like birthdays and other celebrations falling round the year. The pandemic phase did not make people give up the idea of getting dressed and look good on special occasions. In fact, we had been constantly meeting the orders of the customers and were functioning in a decent pace.

What’s the most important thing you’re working on right now, and how are you making it happen?

The growth of any business lies in the persistent amplification in every required aspect. Therefore, we are leaving no stone unturned in getting more brands on board. Moreover, we have been strategizing to collaborate with a lot of international brands as well. In fact, we are in constant touch with many brilliant designers. It is a lot of work and yet a lot needs to be achieved with immense dedication and undying efforts.

One of the significant ways we are planning growth in the business is with the idea of expanding our range of offline stores. In same regards, we have already started functioning with our first offline store at ITC Hotel Jodhpur, and in the very near future, we are soon to launch many new stores across the nation.

What does the future hold for the company in the next five years?

After building a significant presence online, now we are planning to establish our business in the offline marketplace. In addition, we have plans to build supply routes to other nations as well. We are looking forward to bring new brands and growing more in the digital space.

Enlighten us a piece of advice you would like to offer to the young entrepreneurs?

“Failure is not the opposite of success, it’s part of success”.
