Raju Srivastava Passed Away At The Age Of 58

On 21 September 2022, the Indian Entertainment industry forever lost its King Of Comedy. Raju Srivastava, at the age of 58, passed away on Wednesday at AIIMS Delhi.

Raju Srivastava was admitted to AIIMS Delhi after suffering a heart attack. On 10 August 2022, Raju Srivastava complained of chest pain and collapsed while working out in the gym. He was rushed to AIIMS Delhi, where he was admitted to ICU and kept on life support.

After a long fight of 41 days and despite showing improvements in his health a few days ago, the comedian left for his heavenly abode. 

As the whole country mourns the death of their beloved comedian, several leaders, including PM Narendra Modi, Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Arvind Kejriwal and several others, have paid their tribute to Raju Srivastava.

Raju Srivastava born on 25 December 1963 in Kanpur, UttarPradesh, India. He died on 21 September 2022, aged 58, in Delhi, India.

Raju Srivastava is survived by his wife Shikha and their two children- Antara and Ayushman. Raju married his wife Shikha, who hails from Lucknow, on 1 July 1993.

Raju Srivastava Entertainment Career

Satya Prakash Srivastava, known professionally as Raju Srivastava and often credited as Gajodhar, was an Indian comedian, actor and politician. His career started with doing minor roles in Bollywood films, including Tezaab, Maine Pyar Kiya, Baazigar, Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiyaa and others.

He gained popularity when he ventured into stand-up comedy with the talent show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2005 and finished as second runner-up. He then took part in the spin-off of the show, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge - Champions, and emerged as the winner with the title of “The King of Comedy”.

He then went on to participate in Bigg Boss- Hindi Season 3. He was voted out of the show after staying in the house for more than two months. He later participated in the comedy show Comedy Ka Maha Muqabala.

In 2013, Raju Srivastava participated in Nach Baliye season 6 along with his wife. He has also appeared in popular comedy shows, including Comedy Nights with Kapil and Mazaak Mazaak Mein.

Raju Srivastava Political Career

In 2014, Raju Srivastava was offered a ticket by the Samajwadi Party from Kanpur for the 2014 Lok Sabha election. But saying he was not getting enough support from the party’s local units, he returned the ticket on 11 March 2014. Later on, in the same year, he went on to join Bharatiya Janata Party on 19 March 2014.

Raju Srivastava is one of the brand ambassadors of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan after Prime Minister Narendra Modi nominated him to be part of it. He had been promoting cleanliness through his events in different cities and various music videos.

What Has Happened To Raju Srivastava?

On 10 August 2022, Raju Srivastava complained of severe chest pain while working out in the gym, following which he suffered a massive heart attack. He was then rushed to AIIMS Delhi, where the doctors immediately shifted him into ICU, where he was kept on life support. Despite doctors’ efforts, he did not gain consciousness for over 40 days, and his health kept deteriorating day by day.

Earlier, the doctors of AIIMS shared that Raju Srivastava suffered brain damage following his heart attack. On 21 September 2022, at 10:20 am, he was declared dead by the doctors.

Raju Srivastava died on 21 September 2022 after being admitted to AIIMS Delhi for over 40 days. He was undergoing treatment after suffering a heart attack on 10 August.
