Early Life and Education

Born in New Delhi in 1959, Vandana Luthra was destined to make an impact. Her father, a mechanical engineer, and her mother, an ayurvedic doctor running a charitable initiative, instilled in her a sense of purpose to help others.

After graduating from the Polytechnic for Women in New Delhi, Vandana embarked on a journey to Europe to acquire expertise in beauty, food, nutrition, and skincare.

The Birth of VLCC

In 1989, Vandana Luthra laid the foundation for VLCC (Vandana Luthra Curls and Curves) in the Safdarjung Development Area, New Delhi. VLCC started as a beauty and wellness service centre with a focus on dietary modification and exercise-based weight management programs.

Over time, it evolved into a public limited company with a strong national and international presence.

VLCC offers a wide range of services, including weight management, skincare, body care, haircare treatments, advanced dermatology, and cosmetology solutions.

With a presence in 326 locations across 153 cities and 13 countries in South Asia, South East Asia, the GCC Region, and East Africa, VLCC has become a leader in the Indian beauty and wellness industry.

Diverse Operations

VLCC's impact extends beyond its wellness centres. The company operates its product business through its subsidiary, VLCC Personal Care Limited, in India and GVig, in Singapore, which it acquired in September 2013.

VLCC's products, including haircare, skincare, and body care, are sold through 100,000 outlets in India, over 10,000 outlets across the GCC region and Southeast Asia, as well as through e-commerce channels.

Additionally, VLCC runs vocational training institutes known as the VLCC Institute of Beauty & Nutrition. These institutes, with 73 campuses in 55 cities across India and one in Nepal, train nearly 10,000 students annually, offering courses in various disciplines related to beauty and nutrition.

Philanthropy and Social Responsibility

Vandana Luthra's commitment to social causes is evident through her roles as Vice Chairperson of the NGO, Khushii, and her association with the Amar Jyoti Charitable Trust.

Khushii operates telemedicine centres, a remedial school catering to 3,000 children, and a vocational training facility. The Amar Jyoti Charitable Trust, which she patronises, has pioneered inclusive education for children with and without disabilities.

Furthermore, Vandana Luthra actively contributes to India's Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship's Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, serving on various committees.

Awards and Recognitions
