In the world of digital entrepreneurship, few figures shine as brightly as Priyanka Gill. Born on June 2, 1980, this British national of Indian origin has carved a remarkable path in the realms of business and media, establishing herself as a key player in the digital revolution.
Gill's journey began in a small town in Punjab, India, where she spent her formative years. Her educational odyssey reflects her diverse experiences, encompassing prestigious institutions around the world. She attended the Convent of Jesus and Mary in Mussoorie, Vidya Devi Jindal School in Hisar, and Lady Shri Ram College in New Delhi, where she pursued English Literature.
Her pursuit of higher education took her to the hallowed halls of Columbia Business School and the London Business School, culminating in her achievement of a Global MBA in 2023.
Priyanka Gill's entrepreneurial spirit first emerged when she founded eStylista, a fashion blog in 2012. This endeavor would later evolve into a content platform, aptly named eStylista, in 2013. The journey took a transformative turn in 2014 when the platform was rebranded as POPxo.
Under Gill's leadership, POPxo emerged as a vibrant and dynamic digital community, providing a safe and engaging platform for millennial women in India. The platform swiftly became an integral part of their digital lives. In 2014, Gill secured 3 crores in pre-Series A funding for POPxo, a milestone that marked the beginning of a successful journey.
In 2017, POPxo raised $3.1 million and $5.5 million in funding rounds led by Neoplux from South Korea and OPPO from China, along with participation from existing investors. It earned a place on the Unilever Foundry30 Southeast Asia and Australasia, a list recognising the most ambitious startups in the region.
In August 2020, POPxo merged with MyGlamm, a burgeoning beauty and makeup products brand founded in 2017. This strategic move brought Gill into her role as the co-founder of the merged entity.
Following the formation of the Good Glamm Group in September 2021, Priyanka Gill further ascended in her career, becoming the Co-founder of the Good Glamm Group. In this role, she heads the Good Media Co. division, which oversees a roster of influential platforms, including POPxo, ScoopWhoop, MissMalini, and BabyChakra.
Gill's accomplishments extend well beyond her work at POPxo and MyGlamm. She is the founder of Plixxo, a social media influencer management company that connects influencers with brands to create content.
Gill is also an angel investor, supporting lifestyle brands and early-stage technology startups. Her investment portfolio includes Bea's of Bloomsbury, Yieldify, Campanja, SoundOut, and Raptor Supplies.
In addition to her entrepreneurial ventures, Gill plays a crucial role in fostering entrepreneurship. She is a board member of TiE, a global non-commercial organisation dedicated to nurturing entrepreneurship. She also serves as a board member for CXXO, an initiative by Kalaari Capital, which supports female Founder-CEOs.
Despite her already extensive list of accomplishments, Priyanka Gill continues to push the boundaries of her capabilities. In 2023, she launched the podcast "Dream Build Scale" exclusively on Spotify.
