How can good health boost your business?

As an entrepreneur, you are so passionate about your business that you want to give it your all. What we forget as entrepreneurs is that consistency is more important than being burned out early on.

.

Being healthy is of utmost importance, and I learned it the hard way. After working in the corporate world for over a decade, I started my company - StarFishGlobal Communications LLP in 2019. Meeting client demands, unrealistic deadlines, and improper sleeping habits took a toll on my health throughout the first year. Slowly, I realized that I was getting burnt out, and I was not as focussed as I used to be. That's when I decided to get serious about my health.

Earlier I would check emails as soon as I woke up. As an entrepreneur, you are constantly firefighting and trying to solve problems. So, checking emails first thing in the morning is not smart and puts your brain in a negative space.

I decided to take charge of my health and established a strong morning routine. I began exercising and intermittent fasting regularly. Surprisingly, once I followed a vigorous morning routine, my sleep got regulated, and I would also not get stressed easily.

Even though I have been health conscious since childhood, I put my health on the back seat in the initial days of my company. I've been off sugar and processed foods for about eight years, and I've been practicing yoga since I was a child. However, when I first started my business, I got overwhelmed and carried away, putting my health at risk.

It's crucial to remember that you have to be invested in your company as an entrepreneur. From pitching to closing clients to handling company finances, you need to be on top of things even if you are not executing everything yourself. As a result, it's easy to get carried away because the labor never stops. That's when you need to prioritize yourself and your health.

After all, you can only build your empire if you are in excellent health.

Why is good health more critical for any entrepreneur?

Not only physical but mental peace is also essential for an entrepreneur. A peaceful mind aids in the generation and execution of great ideas. A calm mind can also be an excellent problem solver, essential for any business owner.

Health is wealth in the true sense. As entrepreneurs, we are pressed for time, and twenty-four hours do not seem enough to get work done. We are never satisfied and are constantly striving for perfection. This mindset negatively impacts our health. It is only normal to believe that we may save 30 minutes of our day in a problematic scenario by not exercising. But we don't realise that by exercising for 30 minutes a day, we can extend our lives by at least ten years. Not to mention that our quality of life improves dramatically.

Eating nutritious foods, exercising, getting enough sleep, are just a few basic methods to be healthy and fit. A healthy lifestyle requires effort. Whether you decide to gradually raise your activity levels or build and follow a comprehensive fitness regimen, it will pay off in the long term. Exercise improves the health of your body's numerous organs and makes you feel stronger. Not only do we look and feel better, but we may also improve our health by consuming the right foods.

We must strive for perfection not only in our work but also in our health as entrepreneurs. We can achieve anything if we have a healthy body and mind. Even if we achieve everything, we will not be able to enjoy the benefits until we are in good health.
