Vivah Panchami is an auspicious Hindu festival that marks the wedding anniversary of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita. As per the Hindu calendar, it is celebrated on the fifth day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Margashirsha.

The day is widely celebrated in Ayodhya and Janakpur in Nepal, where temples are decorated with lamps, lights and flowers.

Vivah Panchami is a joyous Hindu festival celebrating the divine love between Lord Rama and Goddess Sita and their union. Devotees mark this auspicious festival by observing fast for Lord Rama and Sita, visiting temples, and worshipping the deities.

The temples of Lord Rama and Sita are specially decorated with flowers and lights on this day.

Various pujas and rituals are performed, including the recitation of the Ramayana, narration of the story of Lord Rama by the priest, and Kalyanam, which marks the marriage ceremony of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita.

Vivah Panchami is majorly celebrated in the northern states of India, such as Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. However, it is also enthusiastically celebrated in the city of Janakpur, Nepal, the birthplace of Goddess Sita. The festival marks a grand celebration with massive processions and elaborate rituals in Nepal.
