Kumar Mangalam Birla is recognised as one of the Billionaire Industrialists hailing from India who has built an empire as the fourth generation of the Birla Family from Rajasthan. Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, one of the largest conglomerates in India, Kumar Birla was born in Kolkata in the Birla family to his parents Aditya Vikram Birla and Rajashree Birla. His sister, Vasavdatta Birla is also a part of the Kumar Mangalam Birla Family.

While he was born in Kolkata, he was brought up in Mumbai and got his Bachelor of Commerce from H.R. College of Commerce and Economics before he ventured abroad to get his MBA from the London Business School.

He continued his studies once he got back to India and pursued Chartered Accounting from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He viewed studying for CA as the greatest task but become a topper as they cracked the exam in his first attempt.

Later, he was appointed as Chairman, Board of Trade constituted under Ministry of Commerce and Industry and also served as the Chairman, Ministry of Company Affairs' Advisory Committee.

Kumar Mangalam Birla Vodafone Idea step down took place in November 2021 and invested in his capacity of $150 million.

One of the most expensive real estate transactions in Mumbai was for Kumar Mangalam Birla House, by the Chairman of Aditya Birla Group as he purchased Jatia House in Malabar Hill for Rs 425 crore Rupees.

Kumar Mangalam Birla Son, Aryaman Birla is a cricketer who made his first-class debut for Madhya Pradesh in 2017-18 Ranju Trophy in 2017. The following year, he was brought by Rajasthan Royals in the 2018 IPL Auction and scored a maiden century in first-class cricket. His efforts as an educationist can be seen through the ventures he has taken including the inception of BITS, one of India’s leading institutes. He is the Chancellor of Birla Institute of Technology & Science or BITS Pilani and BITS School of Management or BITSoM.

He also serves in the role of a chairman of IIT Delhi, IIM Ahmedabad, and
