Khajuraho is a city in Madhya Pradesh, located in the Chhatarpur district. There are some amazing places to visit in Khajuraho. The town has its name earlier “Chhatarpur” which is derived from the Sanskrit word khanjar, meaning ‘date palm’. 2. Laxman temple
it is the Sadharan temple of the Panchayat Ana variety. The entire temple complex stands on a high platform as seen in the image. The structure consists of all the elements of the Hindu temple structure. It has an entrance porch, Mandapa, Maha Mandapa, Antarala and Garbhagriha, unlike other temples in Khajuraho, its sanctum is Pancharatha on the plan. Its shikhara is clustered with minor urushringas. The Lakshmana temple was the first of all the temples built by the Chandela king in their new capital of Khajuraho. 3. Chaturbhuj Temple
this temple is symbolling for shiva. It is situated in Madhya Pradesh. The word Chaturbhuj itself give meaning to itself “Chatur” meaning ‘four’ and “Bhuj” meaning ‘arms’ which translates to “one who has four arms” and refers to Rama an Avatar of Vishnu. The temple has a complex multi-storied structural view which is a blend of temple, fort and Palace architectural features. 4. Parsvanatha Temple
it is a Jain temple at Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh. The temple is believed to have been constructed by a prominent Jain family in 950 and 970 CE, during the reign of the Chandela king Dhanga. The temple structure has an oblong architectural plan with projections at two ends which make it more beautiful. The front projection forms the entrance porch, the back projection is a shrine attached to the sanctrum. The ceiling of the entrance porch features a chain and floral patterns and a pair of interwind flying vidyadharas. The door lintel of the Mandapa has the sculptures of Adinatha’s attendant a ten-armed Chakreshvari riding a Garuda. The sanctum features sculptures of the Jinas. The temple has a magic square called the “Jina Square”. This is one of the oldest known 4 X4 magic squares, as well as one of the oldest known most perfect magic squares. 5. Devi Jag amba Temple
it is also known by the name Jagadambika temple among the best places to visit in Khajiraho. It is one of the groups of about 25 temples at Khajuraho Madhya Pradesh, India. Khajuraho is a World Heritage site. The temples of Khajuraho were built by the rulers of the Chandela dynasty. The temple showcases the typical triple panel of sculptures wherein the topmost has some of the most erotic cravings. Despite being small in size, compared to other shrines in the western wing it stands as an epitome of marvellous artistry. This ancient shrine is dedicated to the Hindu goddess of the Universe, Jagdamba and her statue can be seen in the garbha griha. this mandir is dedicated to the Tirthankara Adinatha temple, although its exterior walls also feature Hindu deities. One of the best places to visit in Khajuraho, the temple is a part of the UNESCO world heritage site along with other temples in the Khajuraho group of monuments. The walls outside the temple have three bands of sculptures featuring surasundaries, flying vidyadhara couples, vyalas and a dancer with musicians. The temple is a significant example of the Jain settlement in Khajuraho. This ancient shrine is dedicated to the first Jain Tirthankara Adinatha the founder of Jainism. Months of summer are hot and dry with temperatures shooting up to a sweltering 45 degrees Celsius during the day. This season receives the minimum amount of tourist activity and is the offseason in this place. So, the season of winter or after the monsoon is good for visiting Khajuraho. October to March is the best season for Khajuraho sightseeing. Khajuraho temples are a very nice place to visit. Adinatha temple is located in Khajuraho. this temple is a Hindu temple in Khajuraho Madhya Pradesh. This temple is symbolizing the god shiva in the form of Linga. The temple name Duladeo itself depicts the meaning ‘holy bridegroom’. Due to its meaning, one more name is given by which it is known ‘Kunwar Math’. Built-in the year 1130 the dulhadev temple enshrines a beautiful Shivalinga and striking sculptures of Apsaras and other ornamented figures. The temple also has a stunning sculpture of lord shiva with his wife Parvati. The temple though not in the same league as say, the magnificent kardiya Mahadev temple, is a smaller version.
