Khajuraho is a city in Madhya Pradesh, located in the Chhatarpur district. There are some amazing places to visit in Khajuraho. The city is mostly known for its Hinduism and Jain temples and is famous for its erotic sculptures. The town has its name earlier “Chhatarpur” which is derived from the Sanskrit word khanjar, meaning ‘date palm’. It is a city of known for magnificent temples and it is about its intricate sculptures located in the Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh. The UNESCO site of “Khajuraho group of monuments” is famous for its Nagara-style architecture and graceful sculptures of Nayikas and deities.

2. Laxman temple

Months of summer are hot and dry with temperatures shooting up to a sweltering 45 degrees Celsius during the day. Built-in the year 1130 the dulhadev temple enshrines a beautiful Shivalinga and striking sculptures of Apsaras and other ornamented figures. The temple also has a stunning sculpture of lord shiva with his wife Parvati. The temple though not in the same league as say, the magnificent kardiya Mahadev temple, is a smaller version.
