OnePlus, the popular smartphone brand, has officially announced its entry into the tablet market with the launch of the OnePlus Pad. The tablet is available for pre-order in India from April 28th onwards, with a starting price of Rs 37,999. This move by OnePlus is significant as it diversifies the company’s product portfolio beyond smartphones and accessories.

Performance

The OnePlus Pad is launched in two storage variants. The base model comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, while the higher-end model has 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.

Both models are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset, which is a high-performance processor designed for flagship devices.

Display

The tablet sports an 11.6-inch LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate, FHD+ resolution, and 500 nits of brightness. The display also has a screen-to-body ratio of 88.14%, which means that it covers almost the entire front of the tablet.

The tablet measures 6.5mm in thickness and weighs 552g, making it a slim and lightweight device.

Huge Battery

In terms of battery life, the OnePlus Pad comes with a 9,510mAh battery that supports 65W SuperVOOC charging technology. This means that the tablet can be charged from 0 to 100% in under an hour. OnePlus claims that the tablet has a standby life of up to one month, which is impressive.

Accessories

OnePlus has also launched a few accessories for the OnePlus Pad. These include a magnetic keyboard, a white stylus, and a folio case. The magnetic keyboard is priced at Rs 7,999, the stylus is priced at Rs 4,999, and the folio case is priced at Rs 1,499.

Camera

The tablet has a 13MP rear camera that supports EIS and can record videos at 30fps. The front-facing camera is an 8MP sensor that can also record videos at 30fps.

The tablet comes in just one WiFi variant and does not come with a 3.5mm headphone jack. Users will have to connect Bluetooth earbuds or use a Type-C to 3.5mm adapter to use wired headphones.

Conclusion

OnePlus Pad is a promising addition to the tablet market. With its high-performance chipset, impressive display, and fast charging technology, it has the potential to compete with other tablets in its price range.

The accessories that OnePlus has launched for the tablet are also interesting, especially the magnetic keyboard and stylus. It remains to be seen how the tablet performs in the real world, but it is certainly an exciting new product from OnePlus.
