Owing to the comprehensive experience of four decades in management, and rich experience in managing large teams and projects using various technologies by the executive team, Alpinesoft is poised to take projects seamlessly through the entire life cycle from requirements, design, development, implementation, to support.

Boasting her 25 Fabulous Female Entrepreneurs to Watch in 2021 recognition, Raina shared, “It feels great to be recognized. This is an achievement of a milestone for our team as we grow together while I head branding and marketing besides looking after the employee's needs.”

In an unfiltered conversation with The CEO Magazine’s Editor Purnima Narang, Raina shared more insights of her journey, leadership, business plans, and more:

TCM: As a businesswoman, what was your mission at the outset? Did you achieve the same?

Raina: I started my journey with my supportive husband, Arvind Kanaujia with dreams of establishing myself as an independent working woman and a game-changer in the Information Technology services industry. Today, we serve more than 1500 businesses across India and proudly retain customers with our peerless services.

While our great team of IT professionals delivers, I am focused to steer my company to reach my desired vision. I believe a business that is backed with a team ready to travel the extra mile will never fail.

TCM: In the journey, did you deal with the challenge of acceptance? If not, what were the other challenges you overcame?

Raina: We faced challenges similar to every classic start-up company, from finding customers to finances, however, the biggest challenge was onboarding customers.

While marketing the services was another challenge, we started small and with a process-focused approach, we were able to attract and retain clientele.

TCM: Enlighten our readers about your peerless services that add value to your target clientele?

Raina: Our clientele encompasses diverse industries, company sizes, and budgets as our services are aimed at seamlessly allowing them to beat the competition to showcase their services in a competitive space.

TCM: Tell us your approach to challenges?

Raina: Sometimes, when we go through hardships, it is difficult to recognize a positive side. However, if you keep yourselves open, you realize that everything happens for you, not to you, you can gain a lot more information and expand yourselves as you go along.

In the case where you have managed to be open and receptive to new situations, you can collect even greater earnings from what is happening, by asking yourselves:

• What will happen if this event brings over opportunities that I could not even think of?

• What can I do with it?

The above questions can be repeatedly applied, in different phases of your lives, for you to succeed in changing your prospect in things, in any challenge or situation.

At the end of it, the way we react or respond to certain events to which we are attached will create the world in which we shall live and the experiences we shall have.

You can control your thoughts and adopt the best and more productive convictions to follow, to lead your life into the outcome of your longings.

TCM: What are the mistakes you wish you could’ve avoided as an entrepreneur?

Raina: I do not believe we made mistakes. Although, many business consultants did raise eyebrows at our work from home company policy for employees, a norm in the industry now. The Alpinesoft family celebrates together, works together, and grows together as ambassadors of the company articulating the brand’s vision to the clientele.

Being productive with time is the key to unlock success which overpowers any other tactic or strategy to grow and scale a business. As decision-makers, we should be aware of ourselves and our team to ensure we become more effective and productive.

TCM: How did you differentiate yourself and your brand from the competition?

Raina: As I mentioned earlier, we boast our team’s development and support services. Transparency and honesty in our dealings with our customers is our mainstay as each client is well aware of the product/service they are paying for.

Alpinesoft IT solutions also bridge the gap between new partners and customers for solutions we do not expertise in, ensuring growth for both.

TCM: How do you keep your team motivated despite conflicts and obstacles?

Raina: The Alpinesoft team is a cohesive team with self-motivated members whom we nurture. Owing to our open-door policy, they can come to us any time to discuss any matter that they wish to. Our friendly work environment and teamwork are very efficient.

Flexibility is also an imbibed core value that allows the team to be receptive to others' course to deal with a particular situation and adaptive to different situations. Inevitably, there are differences of opinions but we discuss and arrive at a consensus. I believe, being patient is the key to resolve all conflicts.

TCM: What are the questions you ask after each breakthrough?

Raina: Every time we acquire a new contract, we look back and see what we did to win the contract and what more we can do to improve upon. Some of the questions that I ask myself are:

· Could I have done something different to get the business?

· What did the customer like?

· How much time did we spend and what was it worth?

The answers to these help us improve our strategies.

TCM: If you were to answer a young female executive’s question of ‘How can I be a good leader?’, what would you advise?

Raina: Believe in yourself and stay focused. Keep innovating yourself and bring a new you every day. Be a team player. Surround yourself with other like-minded people who will inspire you and guide you. Most of all, be honest to yourself and your stakeholders. Honesty helps you build good relationships which ensure good business.

TCM: What are the achievements you are proudest of today? What do you plan to achieve next in your current role?

Raina: My team and company, which I have built from scratch, are the ones I am proudest of. With the best team, I also savor my relationships with our delighted and satisfied clientele. Our hard work has led us to reach where we are today.

Similar to every business owner’s dreams, I have an eye on the best IT companies’ recognition. Being recognized as one of the 25 female entrepreneurs is one step towards my goal.

TCM: Do you believe in giving back to society, if yes, how?

Raina: I do believe in giving back to society. On the same lines, I have worked on community services projects with Rotary International, tree plantation projects and projects to save and provide clean drinking water to people, and empowering girls to become self-independent through education.

At the same time, I value peace within and in the world. I encourage Alpinesoft employees to join hands in making the planet a better place to live.
