The Invisible Relationship – Health of the Entrepreneur & the Business

They say, 'you are what you eat.' Even though old, this statement is just the tip of the iceberg for who you can be and what eating means. This adage simplifies the secrets of success for the most significant factor in any business, i.e., the entrepreneur.

A good entrepreneur avoids harmful activities, and a great one actively indulges in healthy ones. Health for business owners and entrepreneurs is an asset, a tool, and a necessity.

How Can Good Health Boost Your Business?

You're the biggest asset of your business; your unavailability due to health issues can severely damage your business. The growth and lifecycle of your business are strongly intertwined with your health, motivation, and indulgence. Your health is critical to the success of your business or start-up.

On several occasions, it has happened that I had to travel to a different city with a completely different climate on short notice. You cannot afford to fall sick or fatigued for such opportunities. We have often taken early morning flights, pitched to a big brand, had a few other essential meetings, and before the day ends, we are flying back to start the next day at the office.

Good health has always been a factor in business success. As an entrepreneur, all the stakeholders demand your attention, and the more you can address them, the better it is for the business.

Being in business does not mean only having a sense of business and the acumen to find opportunities. It means you are highly productive, on top of your creative thinking, and can stay motivated in adverse situations.

Excellent health also boosts your confidence to move into unknown territories and stay on your toes all the time.

How To Include Self-Care in Daily Routine?

At least this part, I believe, should be like clockwork in an entrepreneur's day. Wake up almost at the same time every day, and make sure never to use that snooze button on the alarm. Indulge in 30 minutes to an hour of physical exercise, meditation, etc.

Then go on to have breakfast before starting your day. This routine alone is enough to put you on a pedestal for better health. However, this is only the beginning; good sleep is also an essential factor in completing your daily self-care routine.

Try to snooze off at about the same time. The routine will make it easier for you to have an increasingly efficient sleep pattern and wake up fresh.

I include swimming as the most versatile form of exercise, at least three times a week. This exercise is a great stress buster, works out the entire body, and builds muscles and endurance. But regular health is not the only thing to look after. I routinely go for a whole body check every six to nine months.

The majority of the world's most remarkable and most successful men and women are a testament that 'health is indeed wealth.
