In its latest addition to its already wide range of mobiles, Micromax lately introduced a budget phone with high end specification named as MicromaxYU Yureka.

Here one interesting fact is that Micromax did not wish to launch the phone under Micromax brand. As per company co-founder Rahul Sharma, "YU" is going to define itself as a brand on its own merit.

The main objective according to Rahul Sharma is to reach out to the mass and developer community simultaneously.

The phone runs on Cyanogen OS 11 (customized version of Android 4.4.4, can be upgraded based on next android 5.0 release). For those who love to tweak and play with their phones, cyanogenmod is a blessing.

Also users can access and select from a pool of themes, wallpapers.The good news for tech enthusiasts that CyanogenMod is an open source platform and the warranty will not void in case while rooting the phone.

The price of Yu Yureka is Rs. 8,999 and spots some rather impressive specifications. Below are the specs:

I accessed many short reviews of the phone by many experts which generally gave positive response to the phone. A few of the things which they raised concern about the phone is Camera is a great but definitely very good for its price point.

Also the screen is bit reflective. Battery life is not tested much. Apart from these, all other prospects seem bright for the phone. The registration process already ended a day before due to heavy demand.

The phone can be bought on 13th January, 2015, available only on amazon site in its initial phase.So going by the buzz, this is certainly a phone to look out for. So be informed more, once the phone is launched for its actual performance.
