Early Life and Education

Amish Tripathi's journey began in Mumbai, where he was born and brought up. However, his formative years were spent near Rourkela, Odisha. Tripathi's educational journey took him to some of the most prestigious institutions in India.

He is an alumnus of the renowned Cathedral & John Connon School, Mumbai. Afterwards, he pursued his undergraduate studies at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, and furthered his education at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.

Tripathi's journey as an author commenced with "The Immortals of Meluha," the first book in the Shiva Trilogy, which was published in February 2010. This novel was groundbreaking and marked the beginning of a literary phenomenon.

The Shiva Trilogy was followed by "The Secret of the Nagas" in August 2011 and "The Oath of the Vayuputras" in February 2013, concluding the epic saga. These books explored the legend of Lord Shiva in a contemporary yet mythological setting.

The author's literary journey did not stop there. In June 2015, he released "The Scion of Ikshvaku," the first book in the Ram Chandra series. This series, a prequel to the Shiva Trilogy, narrates the tale of Lord Ram. "Sita: Warrior of Mithila," the sequel to "The Scion of Ikshvaku," was released in May 2017 and rapidly became the highest-selling book of 2017.

The third book in the Ram Chandra Series, "Raavan: The Enemy of Aryavarta," was unveiled in July 2019. This literary sensation was followed by "War of Lanka," the fourth book in the series, released on October 3, 2022. His first historical book, "Legend of Suheldev: The King Who Saved India," was published in June 2020 as part of the Indic Chronicles.

Amish Tripathi's literary contributions have transcended language barriers. His works have been translated into nine regional languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada, as well as four international languages, including French and Polish. His influence extends far beyond India's borders, resonating with readers across the globe.

In August 2017, Amish Tripathi ventured into the realm of non-fiction with "Immortal India." This book offers readers a unique perspective on India's timeless civilisation, serving as an insightful guide for the youth of the nation.

As a Diplomat

Tripathi's journey took an unconventional turn when he was appointed by the Government of India as Director of The Nehru Centre, London, in a diplomatic role in 2019. This prestigious position reflects his commitment to promoting Indian culture and fostering international relations.

Documentary Host and Film Producer

Amish Tripathi has also left his mark as a documentary host, beginning with the Warner Bros Discovery program "Legends of the Ramayan with Amish." This engaging documentary, produced by Wide Angle Films, won the Digital Reinvent award for Best Documentary.

Additionally, Tripathi co-hosted an episode on faith in the Warner Bros Discovery documentary series "The Journey of India" with the legendary Amitabh Bachchan, celebrating India's rich tapestry of faiths.

In September 2020, Amish Tripathi expanded his creative horizons by announcing his foray into film production.
