Dr. Shilpi Mohan - Founder - The Angel Healing
While the world races toward innovation, many are turning to ancient practices like astrology and holistic healing to find balance and peace. In a world driven by logic and reason, these practices provide a soothing counterbalance—a reminder of our spiritual connection to the universe. Spiritual practices and wellness hold the power to illuminate paths that science alone cannot. They remind us that health is not just about the body but also about the mind and spirit—creating a balance that leads to real healing.
For Dr. Shilpi Mohan, this belief isn’t just a philosophy but her way of life. Guided by the mantra of Ikigai, she has spent her life blending the worlds of science and spirituality. From her early days as a dedicated medical student to her evolution into a psychic healer and wellness advocate, her journey exemplifies how healing is not confined to any one discipline. It is a calling that encompasses both the mind and the soul, integrating spiritual wisdom into every aspect of her work.
Dr. Shilpi was born into a middle-class family, where her upbringing was deeply rooted in the values she inherited from her parents. Her mother instilled in her a sense of spirituality, while her father, a national award recipient honoured by President Gyani Zail Singh for his service, taught her the importance of honesty, integrity, and striving for excellence.
Educated at Kendriya Vidyalaya, she cleared both pre-medical and pre-engineering entrance exams on her first attempt. It was her passion to become a heart specialist, which led her to pursue her medical studies at Government Medical College, Jabalpur, MP.
She later completed a superspecialization in cardiology from the prestigious Army Hospital, Research & Referral, New Delhi. During this time, she had to stay separate from her husband for eight years, a challenge that tested their relationship but also strengthened it. Dr. Shilpi credits his support and sacrifices during these years for playing a key role in her success.
In addition to her expertise as a cardiologist, Dr. Shilpi is a gifted tarot card reader, helping individuals find clarity.
Dr. Shilpi always dreamed of creating a holistic healing centre focused on preventive care, shifting the focus from illness to wellness. As she shares, “I wanted to help people, not just treat diseases but prevent them and encourage overall well-being. The key to wellness is understanding and aligning ourselves with deeper energies, both physical and spiritual.”
Dr. Shilpi believes that disease is often a result of mental and physical imbalance. As she puts it, “We cannot just treat a disease per se and leave the root cause unattended, be it unhappiness in life or any other issue troubling the psych.” Her approach to healing is unique, combining physical, spiritual, and psychic healing all under one roof. “When the mind, body, and spirit are in alignment, healing can truly occur,” she adds. As a physician and cardiologist, she treats patients with a modern scientific approach. Alongside this, she brings a rare and valuable combination to her work—being a passionate and accomplished tarot astrologer. Through tarot, she offers guidance and insight, helping patients navigate complex personal challenges and find answers to questions that weigh heavily on their hearts and minds.
Initially, she sought venture capitalists to fund the project but later decided to start small and grow gradually. And thus, Ashvattha Cardiac Care Centre was born. “Starting small allowed me to build something meaningful,” she explains.
Dr. Shilpi Mohan has faced several challenges in balancing her personal and professional lives. Early in her career, she worked hard to complete her education while managing the demands of her marriage. Now, with two young children, Dr. Shilpi finds herself juggling her career with family responsibilities. Additionally, as the wife of an army officer, she has commitments that come with frequent postings and relocations, which often brought instability.
Despite these challenges, Dr. Shilpi embraces the balance between her personal and professional life. “I take things as they come and try to do the best I can at that moment,” she says, reflecting on how these experiences have helped her grow. “It hasn’t always been easy, but it has brought out the best in me.”
Even the COVID-19 pandemic that turned out to be challenging for many brought Dr. Shilpi closer to her patients through telemedicine. “Many patients whom I had not met offline connected with me on virtual platforms during COVID times,” she says. “They are now part of my extended ‘Ashvattha Cardiac Care’ family.” This shift allowed her to continue providing care and support, adapting to the changing times.
Dr. Shilpi believes that a healthy mind and body play a crucial role in strengthening a country’s economy. “Wellness has the potential to make India a global superpower in the years to come,” she says. She emphasises the importance of spiritual healing, as she believes it aligns our lives with the universe’s natural flow, contributing to both personal and national well-being. “I am trying my best to contribute my little bit to the cause and make Indians shift their focus from illness to wellness.”
Dr. Shilpi doesn’t view her work as a business; for her, it’s a passion. “My work is not about profit; it’s about making a positive difference in the lives of those I touch,” she explains. For her, every patient represents hope and healing, not numbers. “I have worked in the remotest areas of Jammu and Kashmir, where my husband was posted, as well as in the largest cardiac centres in Delhi/NCR and Hyderabad. Whether it’s one patient or hundreds, what matters is the impact I can make on their lives,” she says.
Dr. Shilpi sees herself as a healer, a conduit between the Ultimate Healer and the healed. “I am just a medium,” she adds, “that acts to manifest his wishes into reality.” This belief drives her dedication, enabling her to approach every opportunity, big or small, with the same level of commitment and care.
A decade ago, Dr. Shilpi’s heart was set on preventive cardiology, but at that time, the field of interventional cardiology dominated. She even cleared the entrance exams for a fellowship at Narayana Hrudayalaya in Bengaluru. However, midway through, she realised her passion didn’t align with the path she was on. “I decided to focus on opening a preventive cardiology centre instead,” she recalls. This pivotal decision taught her that dreams are not defined by their size but by the meaning behind them. “It’s about manifesting them, regardless of where they start,” she says with conviction.
Some women excel in every aspect of their lives, balancing their personal and professional commitments with remarkable grace. Dr. Shilpi Mohan is one such woman. A devoted wife to serving Army officer, Dr. Shilpi has also made her mark as a cardiologist, tarot card reader, healer, painter, and yoga trainer. Her skill set extends beyond the medical field, as she regularly contributes as a guest columnist for The Hitavada newspaper and has been invited to speak at various national and international forums.
Her achievements have not gone unnoticed. Dr. Shilpi was honoured with the titles of “Most Prominent Cardiologist of the Year 2019 in Secunderabad,” “Enterprise Woman of the Year 2022 - Health and Wellness,” and “Most iconic Healer and Tarot card reader of the year 2024.”
Dr. Shilpi’s message is simple: “Never let the challenges that come your way be an excuse for failure or for not pursuing your dreams. Life is too short to be lived with regrets. Keep moving forward, and don’t be confined by typecasted roles.” She adds, “I personally follow the mantra of ‘Ikigai’—finding your reason for being. A path is made when footsteps are left and seen.” For Dr. Shilpi, growth, development, and success come from perseverance, shedding limitations, and embracing new opportunities, all while staying in harmony with the deeper energies of the universe.
Expanding on this, Dr. Shilpi shares her perspective: “I don’t dream big or small—I just dream. I daydream and turn those dreams into reality.” She acknowledges that her approach may seem unconventional to some, saying, “It may seem like a weird idea or an unconventional approach for those who see things differently. But it’s my life, and I aim to make a positive difference in the lives of everyone I come across—including you!” For her, the key to success is pursuing what resonates deeply with her and staying true to her vision.
