Shahrukh Khan, better known as "SRK", "Baadshah" or "The King of Bollywood", is a part of the Indian Film Industry or Bollywood in various roles, especially as an actor and film producer.

The actor was born on 2nd November 1965 and went from being a Delhi University student to a television actor and then a film star.

Shahrukh was born into a Muslim family in New Delhi and grew up in the Rajendra Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi. While Shah Rukh Khan's father Meer Taj Mohammed Khan had several business ventures including a restaurant and his Mother Lateef Fatima was a social worker, an executive magistrate for the longest tenure recorded who dealt with juvenile delinquents.

Both his parents lost their lives while Meer Taj Mohammed died of cancer in 1981 when Shahrukh was in college, his mother Lateef Fatima died in 1990 due to complications of diabetes. Post the death of the parents, his older sister, Shahnaz Lalarukh fell into a depressed state and Khan took on the responsibility of caring for her and she continues to live with her brother and his family in their Mumbai mansion, Mannat (Wish).

Shahrukh Khan's wife name is Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu who he married in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony on 25 October 1991, after a six-year courtship.

Having appeared in more than 80 Bollywood films, and earned numerous accolades from the industry and awards by Government of India including 14 Filmfare Awards, and Padma Shri respectively. The Government of France has awarded him the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the Legion of Honour.
