Despite lacking formal engineering education, he displayed extraordinary ingenuity by creating the machinery needed for his plant. This marked the beginning of a remarkable vision to make India self-reliant in the steel industry.
Over the years, Om Prakash Jindal's endeavours expanded and evolved into four conglomerates: Jindal SAW Pipes, JSW, Jindal Stainless, and Jindal Steel and Power Limited. His sons, Prithviraj Jindal, Sajjan Jindal, Rattan Jindal, and Naveen Jindal, now lead these giant enterprises.
From a farmer's son in Haryana, Om Prakash Jindal's journey to becoming one of India's largest industrialists is a testament to his unwavering vision, determination, hard work, and courage.

His passion for education, particularly girls' education, led to the establishment of the Vidya Devi Jindal Residential School for girls. This school was the maiden venture of the Vidya Devi Jindal Rural Development Trust, established by him in 1981.
Om Prakash Jindal's life was built on the principle of 'India First.' This principle remains at the core of the Jindal Group's philosophy.
Tragically, his remarkable journey was cut short when he passed away in an air crash on March 31, 2005. At the time, he was serving as the Power Minister of Haryana.
Following his death, his personal assets were transferred to his wife, Mrs. Savitri Jindal, who has continued to uphold his values and principles.
