Knitted Hopes

Weaving Passion, Purpose, and Possibility, One Thread at a Time
Smriti - Founder - Knitted Hopes

Smriti - Founder - Knitted Hopes

3 min read

Some ventures begin with market gaps. Others begin with memory, meaning, and a quiet decision to start again. Knitted Hopes belongs firmly to the latter.

Inspired by the meditative rhythm of shuttle tatting and crochet, Knitted Hopes is built on a simple but powerful belief: even the smallest knots of hope, tied in the darkest moments, can create something profoundly beautiful. What began as a personal journey has grown into a heartfelt brand rooted in handmade artistry, sustainability, and the emotional value of creating with intention.

At the heart of this venture is Smriti, founder, artisan, and a mother of two proud daughters, who chose to follow her passion and begin a new professional chapter at the age of 50.

It’s never too late to start and knit your dreams into reality—proof that passion and patience can turn even a quiet hobby into a thriving dream, one stitch at a time. It wasn't chasing trends - It was chasing purpose and happiness!!

Rediscovering Craft, Reclaiming Purpose

For Smriti, shuttle tatting was never just a technique. It was something she had admired since childhood, watching her mother create with patience and care. Years later, she found herself drawn back to the same threads and tools, this time not as an observer, but as a creator.

At an age when many slow down, she chose to begin again.

Picking up the shuttle and crochet hook was never just about passing time. It slowly became something she looked forward to, something that gave her a sense of purpose and direction. What began as a simple return to a craft she had once admired gradually turned into a serious pursuit, shaped by patience, attention to detail, and a genuine love for slow, meaningful work. Today, her hands transform delicate threads into intricate lacework, each piece carrying time, care, and lived experience.

Crafting Beauty, Thread by Thread

Smriti’s work centres on creating handmade earrings, necklaces, and hair accessories that are lightweight, eco-friendly, and thoughtfully designed. Every piece is unique, reflecting the idea that what is handmade carries a warmth and individuality no machine can replicate.

In a world dominated by mass-produced jewellery, Knitted Hopes offers something gentler and more personal. The focus is on comfort and expression, pieces that feel easy to wear, whether at weddings, celebrations, or everyday moments.

Moving beyond basic floral and bead-heavy styles, the brand introduces jewellery that pampers rather than weighs down. The intention is simple: to offer beautiful, lightweight pieces for women who want elegance with comfort and uniqueness with meaning.

No two designs are the same, just like the women who wear them.

A Personal Mission with Collective Meaning

For Smriti, Knitted Hopes is not just a business; it is her way of showing love through craft, through patience, and through the act of creating something meaningful with her hands.

She believes in slow, intentional art. In making things thread by thread, with care and respect for the process. Her creations are meant for women who choose something handmade, something personal, something that speaks to their inner strength and softness.

Each loop and knot reflects not just technique but emotion. A reminder that beauty can be gentle, thoughtful, and deeply human.

Building a Recognised Artisan Brand

Knitted Hopes has grown from a personal creative journey into a recognised MSME- and DIC-certified brand. It is helmed by Smriti, a certified artisan and proud artisan card holder, committed to keeping traditional craft alive while presenting it in a modern, wearable form.

The brand’s work received recognition when it was featured on the TrySugar page under the #SUGARNotSoSmallBusiness initiative on International Women’s Day 2024 by CEO Vinita. The acknowledgement marked an important milestone, celebrating the journey of a woman entrepreneur who chose to start anew and create with purpose.

Beginning At 50+

“Knitting love, one thread at a time” reflects Smriti’s story in its truest form.

At 50+, she chose to follow her passion, build something of her own, and offer the world creations shaped by patience and heart. Her journey is a reminder that beginnings do not come with an age limit and that meaningful work often starts with something as simple as picking up a thread.

Through Knitted Hopes, she continues to create beauty, offering women jewellery that feels light, personal, and made with care.
