Jeff Bezos, the richest man in the world, has made it to the headlines again but today, for his retirement from being the CEO of Amazon. The e-commerce store that holds the largest share in its niche and is present in 58 countries, Amazon is Jeff Bezos’ 1994 garage start-up. While he will continue to serve as executive chair of the company’s board, focusing on “new products and early initiatives,” the question is who will be the new Amazon CEO?

Bezos will be stepping down from the position after transitioning his originally “online bookstore” start-up idea into a $1.7 Trillion Amazon Empire. One crucial part of its diversification over the years is Amazon Web Services and Andy Jassy, who is the CEO of the same will be replacing Bezos.

Who will be the new Amazon CEO after Bezos?

Apart from his CEO of Amazon Web Services, is set to replace Bezos. Andy has been at the helm of Amazon Web Services before succeeding his mentor.

Who is Andy Jassy?

While this segment of Amazon has been the major backbone of the brand in the early years. While it supported the Amazon website and third-party vendors on the platform but eventually it sold cloud services to other companies and businesses and became successful in 2006.

Andy Jassy, who is known for his discipline, will now be stepping into the shoes of Jeff Bezos and facing the challenges and rewards that come with the job role.

What will Jeff Bezos do after retirement?

While there are speculations that Bezos will be heading to space-bound tourism, the world is curious to explore answers to “what is next for the world richest man?” It is given with his entrepreneurial roots that the industry titan will be shifting his focus to other interesting pursuits outside of Amazon.

A byte of what he is set to do can be seen as he addressed employee of Amazon, “As Exec Chair I will stay engaged in important Amazon initiatives but also have the time and energy I need to focus on the Day 1 Fund, the Bezos Earth Fund, Blue Origin, The Washington Post, and my other passions.”

He shared, “I’ve never had more energy, and this isn’t about retiring. I’m super passionate about the impact I think these organizations can have.” He also wrote a letter to his investors wherein he mentioned the shift of focus towards new initiatives as the executive chairman and focus on making Amazon a better place to work.

Philanthropy will also be a part of Jeff Bezos’ retirement of 57 years old ex-CEO of Amazon as he will be donating more of his wealth and efforts with his foundations including the Bezos Day One Fund and Bezos Earth Fund.

While the Bezos Day One Fund is focused towards which is geared towards helping homelessness and providing educational infrastructure. He will also be focusing on the Bezos Earth Fund, which is a climate crisis management fund, set up at a net worth of about $10 billion to support scientists, activists and others who seek to make a change in the way climate change is happening.

Talking of space travel, Jeff will be travelling to space on Tuesday, 20th of July 2021, leading the space game. He will be taking off in his space start-up Blue Origin rocket. The rocket will be launching from Blue Origin's launch site in the Guadalupe Mountains in West Texas, USA.

In the past 27 years, Bezos has grown Amazon into a brand encompassing delivery service, Whole Foods Market, Prime Video, Audible, and Twitch.
