Shailesh Suthar and Manoj Parmar - Owners - New Viswakrma Mandap Service and Shree Brahmani Light Decoration & Electrical
“They say success comes to those who give their everything to one thing—and stay with it long enough to watch it grow.”
That kind of focus is rare, but in the heart of Gandhidham, there’s a wedding décor business that’s been growing quietly. New Vishwakarma Mandap Service and Shree Brahmani Light Decoration & Electrical began as a small family-run venture, and today, it’s a name people remember long after the lights go out. At the heart of it is Shailesh, carrying forward his father’s legacy with purpose and pride.
But he didn’t always know this would be his path. In fact, he was a bright student with promising academic prospects. But in 2001, a line he read stuck with him: “If you want to do something, give it everything you have.” That was the turning point. He saw potential in what his father had built, and, more importantly, he saw a future there for himself.
In the early years, Shailesh started from the ground up, literally. He worked closely with the on-site teams, learning how every wire, light, and fabric came together. It wasn’t until 2015, when his father stepped back, that he officially took over the reins. Since then, he’s been leading the business with the same hands-on approach but with a wider vision of where it could go.
Weddings are personal. Shailesh understands that no two couples are the same, and neither should their decor be. That’s why every project at New Vishwakarma Mandap Service and Shree Brahmani Light Decoration & Electrical begins with a conversation. Before anything else, he and his team sit down with the client to understand what they truly want. The process starts with a walk through their portfolio, giving clients a feel of what’s trending and what’s possible. From there, it’s a collaborative effort. Shailesh listens closely to their vision, shares his ideas, and together, they arrive at a theme that’s just right in the colour preferences and style.
But beyond design, what really sets them apart is their approach. In a city like Gandhidham, where competition is high, Shailesh relies not on ads or flashy campaigns but on the kind of marketing that money can’t buy: word of mouth. His focus is simple: deliver quality within the client’s budget and let the work speak for itself. And it does. Most of their new projects come through referrals from people who’ve seen their work and remember how it made them feel.
The wedding world isn’t what it used to be, and that’s something Shailesh has seen up close. When he first started out, most decorations could be reused across multiple weddings. Fabrics lasted long, themes didn’t shift as fast, and profit margins were better. Today, things have changed. Couples want something new every single time, be it new fabrics, new colours, or new ideas. What worked last month may already be out of style this month.
One of the biggest trends right now is glass décor. From grand glass entries for the bride to full setups with transparent elements, it’s sleek, modern, and very in demand. At the same time, there’s a wave of nostalgia too. Many couples are leaning back into tradition, using flowers, leaves, and earthy elements to create something rooted and natural. And it’s not just the wedding day anymore. From haldi to mehendi to reception, each function now calls for a different setup, each with its own vibe.
It’s more work and definitely more investment. But for Shailesh, seeing a client happy with the final result makes it all worth it.
At present, New Vishwakarma Mandap Service and Shree Brahmani Light Decoration & Electrical is doing well, with an annual revenue between 3 to 5 crore. But Shailesh isn’t one to settle. In the next five years, he wants to grow that number to 50 crore. The business currently operates in Gandhidham, Kutch, but his dream is to cover all 36 districts of Gujarat. And even beyond that, to take the brand across India, one city at a time. The idea is simple: to have a presence in every metro city and to be known not just for doing weddings but for doing them beautifully and personally.
