Xavier School of Sustainability's Summit

Xavier School of Sustainability (XSoS), will be hosting the fourth edition of XUB Sustainability Summit, on 'Mainstreaming Sustainability: Role of Education and Reporting' scheduled for Saturday, 17th November 2018 at Xavier University Bhubaneswar. 

Each year, the XUB Sustainability Summit strives to build fresh perspectives on pressing issues by engaging with scholars, practitioners, industry experts and students across various domains.

The outcome of such an endeavour is a deeper and a more holistic understanding of how to achieve economic prosperity while securing social and environmental sustainability.

This year, the School of Sustainability attempts to decipher the role of the most fundamental pillar to any reformation: Education.

This summit is expected to act as a change-maker by simulating an interaction with the leaders of change: industrialists, corporate heads and academicians.

It will help the students learn on how to stay ahead in the game by understanding and communicating the business's impact on critical sustainability issues.

The summit will be graced by several eminent industry veterans who will be sharing their perspective with the students on three broad themes, which include Mainstreaming Sustainability Education, Careers in Sustainability, Sustainable Development Goals and Reporting.

 The speakers include Mr. Vishal Bhavsar (Head Sustainability, Ultratech, Aditya Birla Group), Mr. Gaurav Sarup (Sustainability Lead, Vedanta, Cairn India), Mr. Debanjan Bandhopadhyay (Partner, ERM), Mr. Saunak Saha (Associate Partner, Ernst & Young), Ms. Richa Pant (Head CSR, LTFS), Mr. Gyanesh Pathak (Head EHS, Bennett & Coleman, Times Group), Mr. Aditya Batra (Senior Director, Boarding and Funding, CSE), Mr. Pratyush Panda (Vice President CSR, Lafarge ACC), Mr. Christu Das (Director Projects, Holistic Rural Development, ESAF), Ms. Pallavi Atre (Sustainability, TCS, GRI).

XUB believes in offering a platform for quality discussions on emerging issues and trends. The university organises a plethora of superlative discussions to ameliorate the students' learning experience.

XUB Sustainability Summit is one such summit aimed at providing an enriching and interactive session about the role of education and reporting in sustainability.
