As part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, Telecom Sector Skill Council, in collaboration with Ericsson India Private Limited, inaugurated the Centre of Excellence in Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya in Sonipat, Haryana to train 200 college girls / women of Delhi NCR region.

The event was graced by Lt Gen SP Kochhar, CEO, TSSC and Mr. Nitin Bansal, Managing Director, Ericsson India. The guests were seen highly enthusiastic and participated in the event with full vigor.

The centre of excellence is an initiative to provide real life equipment exposure to candidates looking for employment in the telecom sector.

This project intended to provide placement or self employment linked skill development training to college girls / women on ICT Engineer job role designed by TSSC, which will ultimately help girl candidates to earn better livelihood and be self sufficient.

On this occasion, Lt Gen SP Kochhar, CEO of TSSC said that skilled women are getting employment easily. Manufacturing units are also opening up in the telecom sector across the country, where demand for the skilled youth is high.

Mr. Nitin Bansal, MD and Head of Networks (India and Asia), Ericsson India, while expressing his happiness on this occasion, greeted all the people and said that opening of the skill development center would benefit the women candidates very much and they would also get employment.

The wholehearted support from corporates has helped achieve sustainability of various skill development initiatives.

The project supporting partner, Ericsson India Private Limited has provided CSR funds and technical inputs to TSSC for this skill development program whereas the project implementing agency, TSSC has appointed Focal Skill as Training Partner to execute employment / entrepreneurship linked skill development program for college girls / women of Delhi NCR region.
